New Brunswick
Located on Canada's East Coast, New Brunswick is the gateway to Atlantic Canada. It is bordered by three other Canadian provinces (Quebec, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island) and one US state (Maine). It has the unique advantage of being close to the main markets in the US Northeast, as well as Central Canada. The Trans-Canada Highway crosses the province; there are airports in the cities of Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton and Bathurst. VIA Rail, Canada's coast-to-coast rail service, has stations in various cities and towns, providing links to Nova Scotia, Quebec and other parts of Canada.
New Brunswick is divided into 15 regions (known as counties) and has 8 main cities: Bathurst, Campbellton, Dieppe, Edmundston, Fredericton (the capital), Miramichi, Moncton and Saint John. The province has 751,171 inhabitants (52.5% are urban dwellers while 47.5% live in rural regions). As regards to language, 31.4% of New Brunswickers are proud Francophones, while 91.6% of provincial residents say they are very satisfied with their quality of life.
